Welcome to this charming farmhouse retreat on 19.69 private acres, offering the perfect blend of historic character, modern comfort, and peaceful natural surroundings. Originally built in 1910 on the site of an earlier home, this classic two-story farmhouse has been thoughtfully expanded and updated over the years.
A major renovation in 1960 added a spacious north-side kitchen, a convenient first-floor bedroom and full bath, and beautiful cove molding in the generous living and dining rooms.
The home offers 1,930 square feet of living space, featuring 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, making it ideal for families, guests, or those seeking flexible living arrangements.
The kitchen includes a charming pantry with original built-in cupboards and shelving, preserving the home’s timeless appeal.
The 730-square-foot basement features stone walls, a concrete floor with a floor drain, extensive built-in storage, and two workbenches—perfect for hobbies, projects, or additional storage.
Step outside and experience nearly 20 acres of scenic countryside.
Once actively farmed, the land has naturally evolved into a beautiful mix of mature deciduous woods, open meadows, and abundant wildlife habitat.
A picturesque half-acre pond lies approximately one-third of the way into the 1,961-foot-deep property.
Nearly a mile of maintained walking trails winds through the woods, crossing a charming wooden bridge and providing endless opportunities for recreation and exploration. The property includes exceptional outbuildings suited for a variety of uses.
A 36′ x 48′ metal-sided pole barn features two oversized overhead doors, two access doors, and an 8′ x 12′ heated workshop complete with electricity and built-in shelving. Also on the property is an impressive approximately 50′ x 50′ historic gambrel-roof barn.
The original section, constructed in 1890, features a fieldstone foundation, while a 1916 addition includes a concrete floor and former horse stalls.
The upper level served as a seasonal art gallery for 25 years, showcasing the barn’s remarkable versatility.
In recognition of its thoughtful restoration and adaptive reuse, the barn received the Michigan Barn Preservation Network’s “Barn of the Year” Award in 2008.
Outdoor living is equally inviting.
A 13′ x 26′ screened porch, added in 1992, sits atop a deck originally built in the late 1980s and provides the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, outdoor dining, or peaceful evenings overlooking the property.
An additional 13′ x 21′ open deck extends toward the front of the home, offering even more space for entertaining and enjoying the surrounding landscape.
Whether you’re searching for a private country residence, hobby farm, artist’s retreat, or simply a property with room to explore and enjoy nature, 4666 Bunker Road offers a rare opportunity to own a truly special piece of Michigan countryside.
